A little about our film:
After a wildly successful international festival run, the 2017 comedy feature “The VelociPastor” was released on home video and streaming services in august 2019. from a modest budget of $35,000 it became an overnight cult sensation, cultivating a voracious worldwide fanbase.
After hitting the #2 Most Popular spot on Amazon prime and taking over the homepages of Tubi, Hoopla, JustWatch, It was featured in Forbes, The Hollywood Reporter, SlashFilm, Film Threat and innumerable others. One of these journalists is working on a book about the making of the films. It has played on every single continent, been pirated in Iran, and was briefly a talking point in Spanish politics. People have gotten tattoos of this movie on their actual human bodies.
While the original was made in the style of a 70’s horror/martial arts/exploitation film (that classic genre), the follow up joins our heroes as they venture to Italy, in a film that takes inspiration from giallo films (Suspiria), folk horror (Midsommar), and Cold War spy thrillers (Rocky IV). It’s set in the 1980s.
The VelociPastor 2 is current in POST-PRODUCTION with an expected release of 2025
